I began my cosmetology career path in high school! My school offered a program to receive a head start in cosmetology. I then went on to complete cosmetology and receive my license through Educators of Beauty - Rockford. Because I began my education while still in high school, it was only about a year and a half before I graduated from cosmetology. During my training at EOB, we learned everything from anatomy, to hair & nail ser- vices, and much more. We were also able to participate in the Salon Centric Future Pro contest and I even earned runner up! Receiving my education through our CTE program prepared me beyond my needs for the career I’ve started for myself now.

Being able to have that head start really helped launch me forward to a part of my career some people don’t reach until they are about 3-5 years in. The extra time & knowledge I gained helped prepare me for the real cosmetology school experience before I even had to be there.
