Dear Guests:

On behalf of the Sangamon County Schoolmasters, welcome to this event. The Sangamon County Schoolmasters are made up of principal leaders from the area county schools. Participating schools are Athens, Auburn, Chatham Glenwood, Greenview, New Berlin, Pawnee, Pleasant Plains, Riverton, Rochester, Tri - City, and Williamsville. The Schoolmasters are proud of all of the hard work that our students demonstrate. We are appreciative of all of the efforts and support that you give to your child as well as all children! The Schoolmasters Association is able to provide students a variety of opportunities including activities in academics, athletics, music, leadership, and character as a result of your support of this event. Although students are members of opposing schools, they are friendly rivals. Their participation in sports and extra - curricular activities reflects the essence of Interscholastic competition. As a friendly reminder during sporting events, sportsmanship is an expectation, so please let the players play, let the coaches coach, let the officials officiate, and let the spectators be positive.

Guest Conductor Bio:

George Caton is currently serving as a part - time band teacher in Cuba, Illinois. Prior to this, he taught in the Havana School District from 1989 - 2020. During this time, the musical groups in Havana earned many awards and honors. This included a se- ries of guest artist appearances by nationally known jazz performers with the jazz band. Mr. Caton was named most influential teacher by the Havana High School Class of 2020. Caton also served the district as cross country and track coach for many years. A bass clarinetist, he performs locally with his jazz group, George Caton & Frenz. He lives on Lake Petersburg with his wife, Sue. When not involved in musical activities, Papa is busy playing with Hot Wheel cars in the man cave with his grandsons or go- ing off the diving board.
