CTE Graduate Profile
CAREER PATH
Muroo Hamed
I received my nursing assistant certificate from Wilco my senior year of high school. The experience helped confirm my passion for nursing and I graduated with my bachelor of science in nursing from Chamberlain University a few years later. After graduating from Chamberlain, I went to volunteer in a hospital in Ramallah, Palestine. I volunteered there for a few months. I worked on the medical/surgical floor, ICU, and pediatric units. I used the skills I learned from becoming a CNA and a Registered Nurse to help assist in taking care of patients. When I returned to the United States, I got hired to work on the cardiac float pool at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. It was my dream job to work on a cardiac unit at a Level I trauma center.

Health Sciences and Technology
At the program, I got to interact with real patients. I was able to wear my CNA uniform and assist in the nursing home. It was the first time I was exposed to the health care field and it made me realize it was exactly what I wanted to continue to do in the future.
