CAREER PATH

Kelly Koller

I worked in a 4th grade classroom during my senior year of high school. I pushed in to support instructionally, behaviorally, and for material preparation. I was also given the opportunity to shadow occupations of my choice throughout the school year. I took family consumer science classes (sewing, foods,) and accounting to learn essential life skills. I served as a Special Education Teacher with Unit 4 Schools at Edison Middle School, a position I held for 10 years. During my time at Edison, I served as the Special Education Building Leader and RTI Team Member. I also held leadership roles as Novice Teacher Mentor, Professional Development Facilitator at the building and district level, Basketball Coach, and Volleyball Coach. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University in Dec. 2008, and Master’s Degree in Educational Policy, Organization, and Leadership from the University of Illinois in 2018. I also received my endorsement as a Special Education Director from the University of St. Francis in May 2019.
