CTE Graduate Profile
John
I attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison for my Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering. Aside from AP physics in high school, I didn’t really have any experience in engineering. Most of my initial engineering training came from joining Madison’s Formula SAE team, a student-led team that designs and builds a 1/3 scale Formula One-style race car. This is where I learned to design, perform analysis with code, machine/weld, etc. Having this experience, I later interned at Extreme Engineering Solutions, Sierra Nevada Corporation, and NASA Langley Research Center. In my last two semesters of college, I helped start a rocket team called WI Space Race, and served as the propulsion team lead. Upon graduation, I came to ATA Engineering.

Not sure if this counts as “CTE” (which I didn’t actually know of when I was in high school - not sure if that’s new since I was there) - but I found tons of value from taking AP Physics B and C in high school. What I learned in those classes still helps me in my job today.
